My Experience as a Response Intern

“A wise man will make more opportunities than he finds” – Francis Bacon

My time here at Response Marketing has certainly been an experience where I found more opportunities than what I had originally found. I was instantly drawn to the company when I read their company description, and was even more interested when walking into orange office for my interview. Starting back in September, I had no idea how much I would be learning in the next 8 months. Now my final day has come, and I am confident in saying that I have had the opportunity to grow my skills as a marketer. I come out of this internship with a plethora of experience that I can utilize at my future job. Although my job after graduation has not been set yet, the skills and experience from Response have helped me land really great interviews so far.

I want to take this time to sincerely thank the Response team for taking me in and being great mentors. Not only did I have the chance to be exposed to the marketing agency environment, but I was provided invaluable knowledge about the industry. While still being enrolled as a student, I was also given great feedback on student projects that I was working on along with guidance in how I could improve them.

Starting out as an intern, I had made it clear that I was very interested in the search marketing industry and wanted to learn all that I could. I have had the great opportunity to take a whole tutorial on SEO through Lynda.com and utilize the skills that I learned from both Lynda.com and my internet marketing class to assist in SEO projects by doing competitive analysis, keyword analysis, copywriting and creating meta tags. Along with completing this goal, I was also put to the task of assisting the account executives in updating client social media accounts, write blog posts for Response, and conduct market research.

I leave the office today feeling like I have a great foundation and start to my marketing career after interning at Response. I highly suggest anyone who is a Marketing major and looking for a valuable internship to consider applying to Response.
