Spotify for brands has launched two new video ad experiences, Sponsored Sessions and Video Takeover. With Sponsored Sessions, Spotify free users can opt in to watch a sponsored video ad in exchange for 30 minutes of uninterrupted music. Video Takeover allows brands to sponsor a video ad break on desktop, essentially “owning” the ad break. Spotify has 30 million plus users, giving brands the opportunity to connect with people on their platform in a creative experience. Both ad formats are delivered in 100% viewable environment allowing brands to voice their message completely to the user. Source
Facebook announced a few changes to Power Editor. Advertisers will now be able to preview News Feed ads during the creation process, edit at any time through Power Editor, and bulk import/export the ads. Before the common method of creating News Feed ads was to post to the page and then promote through Power Editor. But because those posts were anchored to a page, they could not be edited. Facebook is hoping that these changes will lead to higher quality News Feed ads and easier user experience for advertisers with ad creation and management. Source
Facebook Improves Events and Adds Insights
Facebook announced new features to help pages promote events and insights to see their performance. Pages will now be able to create desktop and mobile News Feed ads to boost even awareness and drive responses. These ads can be created through the Ad Create tool and Power Editor. Event insights will be displayed on the right-hand column of an event page. Insights will show the number of people who’ve seen a link to the event on Facebook, the number of people who’ve viewed the event, and the number of joins, saves and maybes the event received. For those pages that host events regularly, the events tab allows admins to share upcoming events in a single view. Source
